In 2004, Georgina Gough was part of a small group brought together by the late Jonathan Horne, an eminent pottery dealer, to help set up a new City Guild for the antique decorative and applied arts. In 2014, the Company of Arts Scholars was awarded full Livery status.

Having been surrounded by antiques and works of art all her life, Georgina joined the Victoria and Albert Museum in 1968 instead of studying archaeology as originally planned. At the V & A, Georgina was involved in setting up exhibitions both within the museum and for travelling around the country (mainly to schools and art colleges) and this enabled her to study a wide variety of items from 16th c Italian bronzes to David Hockney etchings, Chinese porcelain to Charles Rennie Macintosh.

A brief change of direction took her fund-raising to the Royal Opera House and selling Chelsea properties before joining the family firm of Ronald A Lee Fine Arts, housed in a quirky former coaching inn in the heart of Mayfair. The company, which then consisted of her father Ronald Lee, his business partner R T (Peter) Gwynn, her brother Charlie and herself, dealt in many areas of the fine and decorative arts with an emphasis on 17th century English clocks, furniture and arms and armour. They enjoyed good relationships with many major museums both within the UK and further afield and a number of their purchases can now be found in public collections.

Having served as Clerk to the Arts Scholars until 2017, Georgina now spends her time writing and lecturing. Georgina is a Trustee of the Hummingbird Initiative, which provides water and infrastructure for villages in Kenya. When she can, Georgina plays golf and visits her home in Normandy. Georgina is also interested in classical music, opera and ballet and might occasionally be found digging the garden.
